How to Set up Range Filters
In this help article, we’ll show you how to set up a range filter that allows your website visitors to select a range of values using a slider control.
Step 1. Formatting the Column
To use a column as a range filter (e.g., price or quantity), *make sure the values in that column are formatted as numbers* in your Google Sheet. If they aren't, the system won’t be able to generate a working range filter on your website.
How to format the column as numbers
- Open your Google Sheet and select the column you want to use as a range filter.
- Click on *Format* → *Number* in the top menu. Choose either Number or Currency, depending on your case.
Alternatively, you can simply click the dollar sign ($) icon in the toolbar to apply currency formatting.
After the column is formatted, go to the website editor and refresh the source Sheet in the Content
Tab.
Step 2. Setting up a Range Filter
- Go to the
Content
Tab ->Search, Filters & Sorting
and enable the filters. Select the column that you want to use as a price range filter in the Filter by column menu dropdown:
- If your column is formatted correctly as numbers, a gear icon will appear on the column label. Click the gear icon and select Range Slider. If there is no gear icon on the column label, make sure the column is formatted as numbers in your source Google Sheet (see Step 1).
- Customize the Step value (a step value is the minimum value change allowed when sliding in a range filter). The default value is 0,01. This means that if the minimum value of your filter range is 1, the next steps will be 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, etc. If you're working with larger ranges or prefer fewer steps, you can increase the step value accordingly — for instance, to *1, **5, 10 or **100*, depending on your use case.
Save the changes and you are all set.
